Greetings fellow members,

As I write this, my home town of Sydney has just emerged from 106 days of lockdown. There are plans to open the international border and overseas travel after almost two years of isolation  (coinciding with my term as NPA chair🤔).

One of the things I am most looking forward to is catching up with all my NPAworldwide friends at the Global Conference in Forth Worth,Texas on 7-9 April 2022. It will be great to see each other face to face, learn new ideas, swap stories and celebrate with each other. One of the highlights of any conference is the Chairman’s Award lunch.

Here we take time out to honour one of our own, whose “excellent works and volunteer service are of such magnitude as to represent an endowment of substantial and lasting benefit to the network.”

It is indeed a huge honour and I was the lucky recipient in 2014. Other past winners include super-splitter Mike Pettit, former chairs Jeff McGraw, Kimberley Chesney, Jim Gifford and Lora Lea Mock  and NPA legends Russ Bray, Steve Morris and Kay Durkin as well as those we sadly lost like Manny Rao, Howard Levin and George Black.

So if you wish to nominate a fellow member for the award, please email me your nomination no later than 25th October and the reasons supporting it (2-3 paragraphs will be okay). Remember serving board members/ staff are not eligible.

The Board will hold a secret ballot and the winner announced later this year and presented at the 2022 Global Conference, along with our most recent recipient, Jeff McGraw.
