Dear Nicky,

I haven’t posted a job in a while, and I always get a little confused about the Posting Details and the different Permission to Advertise options. Could you please clarify these for me?

Unclear in Ubly

Dear Ubly,

Happy to help! Here is a breakdown for each section and its options:

Posting Details

  • Marketplace – Only NPAworldwide members can see the job.
  • Marketplace and Job Board – NPAworldwide members can see the job, and it is also available to candidates searching the job boards.
  • Job Board Only – NPAworldwide members cannot see the job; it is only available to candidates searching the job boards.

Permission to Advertise

  • Yes – a candidate recruiter can advertise/post the job anywhere.
  • No – a candidate recruiter cannot advertise the job anywhere, including on their own website.
  • No – Contact Recruiter – a client recruiter may allow me to advertise the job, but I need to contact them for permission first.

Remember: If you DO have permission to advertise a partner's job, you MUST ensure that neither the posting member, nor their client, can be identified in the posting.

One additional consideration: if you have a confidential job that you do not want your partners to advertise, please do not post it on the job board either. Postings on the job board are public, advertised, cross-posted, and scraped.
