If you're struggling to organize your email inbox, remember to use the Rules function to help manage your inbound messages.

For example, you may want to create a folder called NPAworldwide, and automatically have all email from NPA headquarters or your trading partners moved to that folder, to keep it all in one easy-to-find location.

Another option is to create a folder where messages from unsolicited candidates get stored. Or, you could create a folder for a specific search project. You may want to create an auto-response template that is generated anytime you receive a message that contains a resume.

Make good use of your email client's safe/blocked senders list as well. If you routinely find email that you want in your spam/junk folder, be sure to add the sender to your "safe" list. Conversely, junk senders can be added to your "block" list.

We all get too much email, but using rules and filters effectively can certainly help clear the clutter from your inbox.
