My guest commentator today is the one and only Laura LaBine. Laura will be leaving the NPAworldwide Board on March 2; we will miss her. Her expertise  in recruitment is only surpassed by her contagious laugh, energy and  her effervescent personality.

Laura’s dedication to NPAworldwide is all about commitment and service. Laura, you are a shining example of the essence of NPA, and we thank you. —JL

Working together to reach a common goal is an essential part of any successful business. However, there’s more to collaboration than just getting the work done; it can also be a powerful tool for professional development.

From learning from each other to leveraging global teams, collaboration can open up new opportunities for us professionally and personally. With twenty years of experience in the recruiting world, I’ve had the opportunity to work with various business models. A decade ago, I made a decision to open my own company because I knew that there had to be a better way to work. I was introduced to NPAworldwide that same year, and have spent the last 10 years working alongside some of the best professionals in the talent acquisition world.

Here are some of the benefits of collaborating within our network:

Learning from Each Other

One of the main benefits of working in a collaborative environment is the opportunity to learn from each other. Brainstorming sessions, group projects, and team-building exercises all provide valuable opportunities to gain insights into different approaches, perspectives, and ideas that you may have yet to encounter on your own. Not only will this expand your knowledge base and help build your skillset but it will also give you an understanding of how different people think and process information. This knowledge can help you better understand how to communicate with others in the future, which is an invaluable skill in today’s workplace.

Leveraging the Global Recruiting Community

Collaboration isn’t limited to local teams – it can also extend across continents as well. With advances in technology, it’s now easier than ever for organizations to leverage global teams for their projects. By collaborating with individuals from around the world, you get access to unique skill sets and perspectives that would otherwise be unavailable to you if you were only working with people from your local area. This creates a more diverse team dynamic that can be incredibly beneficial for everyone involved.

Pleasure of Volunteering

Another benefit of collaboration is the pleasure and satisfaction that comes with volunteering, and that rings true within NPAworldwide. Many people find joy in giving back by helping out on charity or community projects and collaborating with others who are passionate about making a difference in the world around them. Not only does volunteering positively impact the group as a whole, but it also has been proven to have a positive effect on those who do it – providing us all with an opportunity not just to develop professionally but personally as well.

Conclusion:

Being able to participate in opportunities for personal and professional growth goes far beyond simply completing tasks or reaching goals – opening up doors for learning new things, leveraging global teams, and even volunteering outside of work hours while still making meaningful contributions at the same time! Collaboration has become increasingly important in today’s workplaces so consider these benefits when looking at ways to further your career development. I’ve often said that collaboration will save us as a species, and working with the global network of NPAworldwide has shown how powerful (and profitable) this can be.
