One of the benefits of NPAworldwide membership is the ability to promote an international capability to your clients, serve your clients outside of their home markets, maximize your firm’s business opportunity by spending your time where the jobs are, and avoiding down economic situations in your home market. NPAworldwide defines “cross-border” splits as deals where the partners are operating in different countries. Here is a story about members that completed a cross-border split.

Cameron Gausby (NPA #7426) of KNG Technical Inc. in Oro-Medonte, ON, Canada and Michael Michael (NPA #8641) of Matcha Talent in Indonesia, recently shared a cross-border placement. Cameron placed Michael's candidate, a Method Development Scientist in the Medical Device / Diagnostics industry in the USA.

Cameron said: "Awesome story actually. A former NPA member who I had worked very closely with in NPA (to a near split when I had a Canadian candidate for her RA/QA Director job in Austin, but with Covid, the border and hiring non-Americans was a fluid situation so it didn’t happen). We worked very well together and clearly a friendship started. She left NPA and became a Talent Acquisition contractor and now full time for a Fortune “5” company. She could select vendor/partners on certain roles she needed help with so she called me for an Austin location, a Maryland location, and most recently Bend Oregon.

"Michael saw the posting and sent a candidate that was so strong that in the end she commanded almost 15% more of total equity for the role which has been rigid before. 90k was the 'absolute max' and it turns out it wasn’t (110k).  She accepted Friday after taking nearly 2 weeks to make her final decision."

This is Cameron's fourth placement with the former NPA member at her new company, and he is working on more from her, with the help of NPA partners including US-based member Joanne Brunner (NPA #2141) of Sunrise Consultant Company Inc. for roles in Maryland and Austin.
