One of the benefits of NPAworldwide membership is the ability to promote an international capability to your clients, serve your clients outside of their home markets, maximize your firm’s business opportunity by spending your time where the jobs are, and avoiding down economic situations in your home market. NPAworldwide defines “cross-border” splits as deals where the partners are operating in different countries. Here is a story about members that completed a cross-border split.

Jeff McGraw (NPA #1327) of Reflex Staffing Solutions in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, and Tim Lane (NPA #8438) of Park Lane Recruitment LTD in the UK have shared 2 cross-border placements! Jeff placed Tim's candidates, a Senior Communication Specialist and a Senior Marketing Specialist in the Nonprofit Industry in the UK.

Jeff explains how the deal came about: "I met Tim Lane a few years ago…I believe it was at an NPAworldwide meeting in Portugal. Fast-forward to mid-2021 where Reflex Staffing engaged with a not-for-profit trade association located in Pittsburgh PA but serving customers in the North and South Americas, UK, China, Japan and the EMEA and Asian regions. We were given multiple requisitions for positions located in the US and in the UK. Tim (and Park Lane Recruitment) was top of mind. We communicated the details with Tim and in no time, he was presenting us with very qualified candidates. We successfully filled two roles with the client. Tim and my recruiting team maintained an excellent line of communication and shared all relevant information on a very transparent basis. There was a strong element of mutual trust and respect that helped us complete the project in a timely and efficient manner."

"This was our first cross-border split and would not have happened but for our involvement in NPAworldwide including our volunteer work and commitment to attend meetings and conferences.
(on a side note we utilized Cambridge Payment Processing, an NPAworldwide partner/sponsor, to facilitate the split payment to our global partner. Their service worked great!)"

Jeff added: "Tim and our recruiting team were extra diligent in that we had to fill one of the positions twice due to a candidate deciding against accepting an offer. Very proud that none of us gave up!"

This is a great example of how you can rely on your international NPA partners (and NPA sponsors) to help fill your clients' cross-border roles! Nice work, Jeff and Tim!
