One of the benefits of NPAworldwide membership is the ability to promote an international capability to your clients, serve your clients outside of their home markets, maximize your firm’s business opportunity by spending your time where the jobs are, and avoiding down economic situations in your home market. NPAworldwide defines “cross-border” splits as deals where the partners are operating in different countries. Here is a story about members that completed a cross-border split.
This was a replacement for a position originally filled back in January/February earlier this year. Cesar explains how the deal came about: "The project kicked off with a flurry of activity. Diana, Fatima and Robson from Selpe Brazil, quickly set the wheels in motion. From day one, they knew this wasn’t going to be a walk in the park since the client in England was particular—"non-negotiable expertise and skills" were required, and clarity was the name of the game. But for this recruiting dream team, challenges were merely stepping stones to success.
Cesar said, "I found myself going back and forth with the client, navigating a sea of detailed requirements and adjustments to the job description. The client wanted someone who could not only match their technical demands but also fit seamlessly into their company culture—no easy feat when the candidate would be based halfway across the world in Brazil! Selpe approached the challenge with remarkable resilience. They never stepped back, always available, always in contact. Every time the client reshaped the position, they adjusted their candidate search strategy, fine-tuning their selection process to present only the highest quality candidates. The team’s persistence was unmatchable—each conversation with the client brought us closer to understanding exactly what was needed.
"The star of this story? Claudio Lima. A candidate who embodied the expertise, skills, and charisma that the client had been dreaming of. But it wasn’t just about finding Claudio; it was about ensuring he was thoroughly prepared for the interview gauntlet ahead. Diana, Fatima, and Robson armed him with everything he needed—key insights, clarity on the client’s vision, and a deep understanding of what would make him shine in the interviews.
"Each interaction shaped the final match. The interviews turned into offers, and soon, the final sign-off came through—Claudio was officially placed.
"It was a win for everyone," Cesar said. "Barbachano International and Selpe Brazil pulled off a seamless collaboration across borders; teamwork, resilience, and constant availability were keys to success!"
This is a great example of teamwork and working together collaboratively to get the deal done! And this shows, it is possible to work international jobs for your clients by collaborating with your NPA partners abroad!
