Dear Nicky,

I've seen and heard some talk about dormant accounts on NPA Central. What can you tell me?

Still Active in Stockbridge

Dear Stockbridge,

As we have been sharing over the past month or so, recent changes to our association management software have provided an opportunity to implement additional security layers to help protect members' proprietary information. The first phase involved a new process to ensure that new recruiters are added directly to NPA Central and that they do not get access to NPAmarketplace until they pass our Ethics Quiz.

The next phase will be the removal of dormant accounts, defined as any user that has not logged in to NPA Central for at least 180 days since their account was activated. Here is how that process will work:

Once a new recruiter passes the Ethics Quiz and activates their account, a failure to log in for 60 days after activation will trigger an email reminder to log in. Owners should be encouraging a deeper understanding of the network which can only happen by engaging in the communication channels provided, including NPA Central. A second reminder will follow at 90 days. If no login occurs within 180 days of account activation, the account will be deleted. Once again, this is a way to ensure NPAworldwide shared records are being viewed by active and engaged members.

Users who access NPAmarketplace directly via NPA Central will have login data captured on both sites, which will avoid the 180-day trigger. Successful members utilize ALL the resources available from NPAworldwide, not just the sharing site. Some of the important information available on NPA Central includes:

  • Event/call registration via the events calendar
  • Open Forum discussions and group participation
  • Publications like the Vignette and Money Letter
  • Access to our Bylaws and Operations Manual when you have questions about policy
  • Minutes from the Board of Directors meetings
  • Marketing resources to help you promote NPAworldwide to clients and candidates

All of these resources and tools can help lead to greater success in the network, so we encourage all owners and recruiters to periodically visit the site.

Please contact any member of our Engagement Team if you have questions or concerns.

Nicky
