Hugh Morris (NPA #7408) of Arisoft Group in Richmond Hill, ONT, Canada, has made the firm’s first split placement with Paul Reino (NPA #1344) of AccurIT Staffing Corporation in Downington, PA, USA.
Paul placed Hugh’s candidate, an Embedded Software Engineer in the software industry in the US.

Paul explains how the deal came about: "I had a candidate who has been on my database since 2008 and although I never placed him, over the years we did have the occasional email exchange. Recently he has been employed by a 10-person company and found himself in need of an embedded software engineer. What made the search difficult is they were insisting on a contract-to-hire arrangement. I posted the job in Matchmaker in early April. I was sent a number of candidates from NPA partners but none seem to be of interest to the client. Hugh Morris contact me April 27 requesting to work the job order and within a month he sent a couple of candidates and one turned out to be winner and he was willing to work on a contract-to-hire basis. He had a video interview and then an in-person interview and, in my client's opinion, met and exceeded their requirements. He will now contract for 9 months (1500 hours) after which he becomes a full-time employee. He is working as a subcontractor so there's no need to deal with any payroll issues."

Hugh said he "lucked out" when he found the candidate, because he lives a half hour from the company and was OK with contract-to-hire.

Great work, Paul and Hugh! It pays to post your jobs on Matchmaker!
