Liz Laird (NPA #6085) of IXP Technical in North Hollywood, CA, USA, has made the firm’s first split placement with Rio Montoya (NPA #6656) of Professional Recruiters in Sandy, UT, USA. Rio placed Liz’s candidate, a Systems Engineer in the Software Industry in the USA.
Liz explains how the deal came about: "In March, I met Rio at the NPA conference in New Orleans during a breakout session.  After the conference, Rio and I connected about Rio's role.  The candidate was presented in March, but it turned out to be like (normal) L.A. freeway traffic... lots of starts and stops.  After the candidate interviewed, Rio informed me that the client was delaying things.  Was the delay because of Covid?  No matter, undaunted, I made sure the candidate knew what was happening while Rio communicated with the client and provided updates often.  The hiring process was shifting from a “fun run” to a marathon.  So it was great to have Rio to laugh with - and finally, an offer came in June.  YEAH!  A bit of negotiating and HR sent out the revised offer... but it had wrong compensation in it.  Second try was the trick and the corrected offer arrived.  The candidate accepted the role and will be relocating this month, July.  Rio went above and beyond by helping send links about neighborhoods where the candidate was relocating to and constantly keeping me informed, and I discussed things with the candidate to ensure a positive outcome.  This was good partnering and good communication.  Whew - 4 months from start to finish!"

Rio added: "Liz is incredible to work with and very detail oriented. She also has a wonderful sense of humor and tenacious but super positive attitude! She is a ‘get stuff done’ kind of professional. What more could you ask for in a recruiter? I hope to close many more deals with her, as she is a wonderful addition to my list of partners."

Perseverance pays off! Great job, Rio and Liz!
