David Landau (NPA #8599) of Richard Lloyd Recruitment in Sydney, NSW, Australia, has made the firm’s first split placement with Laurie Smith (NPA #8592) of Talent Match Recruitment in Sydney, NSW, Australia. Laurie placed David’s candidate, a Finance Director in the Healthcare Industry in Australia.
Laurie explains how the deal came about: "In my mind this was a real success story! I was briefed by a client to recruit a CFO  but on the premise though, that the client wanted to use to 2 recruiters and their Swiss Head Office insisted that one of the recruiters must be a specialist finance and accounting recruitment company. I met David on an NPA owners Zoom meeting and subsequently got in touch, and we both decided that we would work this role together and split the fee 50/50 no matter whose candidate secured the role. We were then briefed by the CEO and HR Manager.
The process went smoothly and David and I worked extremely well together to fill the role. The candidate appointed was out of work for almost a year and was so grateful to us for finding this highly sought after role. David and I built up a great work relationship and we are hoping to make more splits!"

David added: "After meeting with Laurie and getting to know each other after the owners Zoom meeting, there was a great opportunity to work together to fill a CFO role for one of his clients.
Given this was my first real NPA collaboration, Laurie was great to work with, in that he explained everything upfront clearly.
The way we worked, both together and with the client was a true partnership. There was complete transparency, frequent communication and the shortlist presented was of a very high caliber. In turn, no surprise – everyone got a great result. Both the CEO and HR Manager commented how pleased they had been with the options presented to them and their new CFO is now in place and making inroads to his new position.
Laurie was a real pleasure to work with and hopefully this will be the first of many placements together."

This is such a great example of a successful trading partnership - setting expectations up front, transparency, and open and clear communication. In the end, this leads to not only a split, but a happy client and candidate! Great work, David and Laurie!
