Ross Wolfson (NPA #4062) of JRA Consulting Services Inc in Arlington Heights, IL, USA, has made his first NPA split placement with Christian Hicks (NPA #5077) of Targeted HR Consulting in Brownsville, TX, USA.
Ross placed Christian's candidate, a Human Resources Business Partner in the Fabricated Metal Products Industry.

Ross explains how the deal came about: "Back in late September 2020, I had a Human Resources Business Partner position given to me with a long time steel manufacturing client of mine who has 6 facilities in North America, 2 in the US and 4 in Canada. My team produced a handful of candidates to them, and almost instantly, had a facility crisis, and put the position on hold. In November, they restarted their interest in filling the position, and found that 3 of the 6 candidates I had presented already took other jobs, and they were only interested in 2 of the others. One was interviewed and immediately rejected, and the other was interviewed, whom they liked. Problems started to occur when they continued to stretch out each interview segment, along with the continuing COVID issues.
"Along with turning up other candidates and having them rejected, my candidate became "less than reliable" on his contacts with us, so I went onto an NPA Cross-Industry call, discussed my situation, and asked for some help filling this role (and informing everyone that I still had a candidate pending, though was not sure if it would work). I received a few emails and calls offering support, but Christian Hicks immediately produced a handful of candidates, and honestly, were one better than the other. I interviewed each and ended up presenting 4 of his candidates, and the client interviewed 3 of them. Two stood out, went through their fairly lengthy interview process, and sadly, one of them took another offer near the final interview process. No worry....the second candidate was equally qualified, and concluded with an offer, due to relocate and start within the next 2 weeks. I needed help. Christian came through immediately, with good candidates. A successful and joyous ending."

Christian said: "My company has been working with manufacturing companies to find qualified professionals. This role was intriguing as it was in heavy industry, which we don’t see very often and the candidates were interested in the role and warmed to it quickly. Ross was great to work with because he provided timely feedback on the role, the client, and the candidates. He had to endure a long recruitment timeline (I bet it was tough on his average time-to-fill)! Ross screened and walked each candidate and the client through the process and despite losing a number of candidates due to attrition, he found the right candidate that we feel will be successful in this role."

While this role took a long time to get filled, it ended with a happy client and candidate... the ultimate goal. Great work, Christian and Ross!
