Brian McGlennon (NPA #8606) of Target Impact in Brisbane, QLD, Australia, has made the firm’s first split placement with Ian Hamilton (NPA #8097) of Carroll Consulting Group, also in Brisbane, QLD Australia. Ian placed Brian’s candidate, a Sales Rep in Australia.
Brian said he and Ian knew each other from some of the NPA Zoom calls and the WhatsApp group. He explained how the deal came about: "I got a call on a Friday evening from Ian, after a bit of chat, Ian invited me to help him find a sales person for his client. Previously, sales people was my niche, so Ian gave me the chance to see if I could come up with anyone suitable. Thanks Ian, very kind of you to welcome me into NPA with an opportunity to work on.  During the engagement, Ian gave me plenty pointers and guidance as to how it all works and so I haven’t looked back."

Ian added: "There is an interesting twist to this story... Brian doesn’t mention that he worked diligently on this brief (which he had remarked was very thorough – one of our hallmarks) he came back checking on details often to ensure he was on point with what the client required. The candidate he presented and insisted would be appropriate for the role we actually had on our database. They had applied for a role with Carroll Consulting 12 months earlier. We had not interviewed or progressed them at that stage. True to the commitment of NPA and the ‘but for principal’ we were happy to progress the candidate sharing the fee with Brian. We worked together through our interview process. Brian at times providing good liaison with candidate and had obviously built a good rapport with them. The candidate has now successfully joined the organisation and shows significant promise as being one of the company’s better performers in the sales team."

This is a perfect example of the "But For" rule in play! Great job working collaboratively to make this placement!
