Rupert Condon (NPA #8103) of Options Consulting Group in South Melbourne, VIC, Australia, has made his first NPA split placement. Rupert placed a Drafter/Estimator in the Logistics/Distribution Industry, provided by Deon Haar (NPA #8512) of Source Junction in Brisbane, QLD, Australia.
Deon explains how the deal came about: "Oddly, given that he is also in Australia, I met Rupert in Atlanta, Georgia, at the global conference. We chatted about the areas we recruited in, and saying we should do a split, as you do. Once back in Australia, Rupert called me and said he had a client in QLD looking for someone, and asked if I could help. He didn’t feel it would add value for him to be involved (given the location and type of role), so we agreed on a non-standard feel split, and he immediately introduced me to his client. We kept in touch the whole way through the process, and filled the role with a great candidate, leaving a very happy client and Rupert with his first split."

Rupert added: “We met in Atlanta which was funny given we’re so close to each other here in Aus – knew we’d work well together as the beer test went beautifully in the US!! A very niche role with a smaller business came open, and given the intricacies involved with it, there was no need for me to be involved in the process from a 'hands on' perspective, given Deon knows the market in QLD better than I do, and specifically the role the client was after. He managed the process from start to finish following the introduction whilst keeping me in the loop along the way at key checkpoints – all wrapped up extremely well and all is happy! Looking forward to a few more splits down the track with Deon – QLD will be a booming market over the next 12 months with a number of our Victorian/NSW clients forecasting growth in personnel within the region.”

Another success story as a direct result of meeting your trading partners face-to-face at a meeting! Great work, Rupert and Deon... that deserves a celebratory beverage at the next conference!
