What is your #1 tip for how to work NPAworldwide?
1) you must engage; it is key, and 2) treat your NPAworldwide partners and staff as you do your best clients or candidates.
Do you have a favorite split story?
Several years ago, I had a relatively new client based in San Jose, CA. They are a leading edge ASIC and System on a Chip design company. I had made 3 or 4 placements with them in the first year or so (some were NPA splits!), when the HR Director called me. She and her family were relocating and she was starting to look for her replacement. Prior to being a member of NPA, I would have said that I can’t help, but I spoke with her and got some details and she sent me the job description. As soon as that conversation was over, I called NPA member Jo Treitman of The Acuity Group since I had met her before and knew she was the right person to find great candidates for this role. A few short weeks later, I was sending Jo a check for the split placement. Without NPAworldwide, this placement would not have happened.
How did you get into recruiting?
I answered a newspaper ad for an inside sales position. After interviewing the next day, I started a few days later and was somewhat good at it.
What is your favorite hobby?
Golf. I have very little time to play and am not good at it, but those few good shots here and there are rewarding.
