Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing all those who celebrate a Happy Thanksgiving. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia - on account of not having Pilgrims. The British preferred to send their convicts downunder.

In any case, Thanksgiving is a good chance to reflect and show gratitude for what we have. Seems odd in a year where many lives have been tragically lost to the pandemic and even more livelihoods have been decimated that we should be thankful. However, if we look past the headlines, there is a lot to be thankful for- especially our network.

When I flew home early from the New Orleans conference straight into quarantine, I was pretty bearish about what 2020 would have in store for us. However thanks to my NPA partners, we have actually had a good year. I have made 11 splits in 2020, which is a record for us and the difference between being in the black and being in the red. So I am truly thankful for my NPA partners who have helped us make splits.

I have also been lucky enough to attend last week's Asia-Pacific Virtual Conference. We had an amazing lineup of speakers and networking opportunities. Where else could you get a quality 3-day conference for $20?

While no substitute for meeting face-to-face and sharing quality time in person, it was a good second place. Big thanks to those involved especially Carola, Veronica, Dave and Kristen.

Big thanks to all my NPA colleagues, friends and staff for all you do. May the year ahead be full of more reasons to be thankful.
