The Board of Directors voted this month to initiate a new NPAworldwide Award for Community Service.  Here is a high level look at the program.

Overview

NPAworldwide is committed to recognizing members that are contributing to their local communities, volunteering, doing charitable activities, or impacting people in ways beyond their work in the network.    Annually, the network will seek nominations of members to be recognized for contributions in service toward others. On years when the Board determines there are appropriate nominees, the Board will put these appropriate nominees forward for a vote by a selection committee.

Objective

Our goal is to make visible the good work of members in the hopes of inspiring even greater contributions from the whole membership.  Where possible and appropriate, the network would like to acknowledge, create awareness, perhaps support and offer a token contribution.

Award ELIGIBILITY

  • Current members in good standing, including Board Directors, Area Leaders and Practice Group Leaders and any other volunteer.  Those nominated are not permitted to vote.
  • Nominated by a fellow member in good standing or self-nominated
  • For non-paid activities
  • Nominations will not carry over year to year
  • No repeat recipients within a 10 year timeframe

Award Criteria/Selection

The Board reserves the right to use any evaluation tools, information and resources available to assess the following major criteria.  Other criteria may also be used to evaluate and differentiate the many great nominations made.  The award is intended for non-paid activities of any current member in good standing from any location worldwide.
