Australia has been very lucky during the pandemic and we are pretty much back to normal here. This morning I attended an industry breakfast headlined by the Australian Treasurer, Josh Frydenberg (the equivalent of the US Secretary of the Treasury or UK Chancellor of the Exchequer) along with 400 others representing a range of industries.

What was interesting was how people were so keen to be back into a networking setting. People were swapping business cards and chatting freely. All of whom were talking up the economy and how speedy the recovery had been while at the same time being cautious that we are only a sneeze and a cough away from the next lockdown. While Zoom has many benefits, nothing beats face to face contact. The ability to look someone in the eye, share a drink or a joke and shake hands.

Let's hope that the world starts healing quickly, confidence returns to the economy and we can meet face to face sooner rather than later from Boston to Brazil, from Manchester to Manila and from Sydney to San Francisco.
