I am a job recruiter and I post my jobs when I get them. I am getting tired of candidate recruiters reaching out to me asking me the client's name, and once I share that info, I never hear from that recruiter again. What is going on?

NPAworldwide policy requires that the name of the client and the exact location of the job be disclosed to candidates once an interview has been scheduled. If you are being asked this information before that, you may keep it private. However, many of our most successful members disclose that information early as it is a sign of trust between partners. It may also help your partner determine competitors that would be a good source of potential candidates (or a company where they should NOT be trying to find candidates). Partners should understand that asking for a client name without engaging in any recruiting activity could be interpreted suspiciously. So this is an area that deserves some thought and good dialogue between partners.
One idea is to send something along these lines: "Dear Partner, Please send me a candidate or two that meets the relevant requirements of my job and I will then share client information. I spend too much time giving recruiters all the information just to never hear from them again."
There are a million ways to be successful in the network, but hoarding information from each other isn't likely to lead to a placement. This is why relationships and voice conversations are so important!
