For this issue of the Vignette, I've asked Melanie Johnson to recap her experience during the recent NPAworldwide Connection in Marbella. - Pam Robison
Reflecting on the recent successful EMEA conference in Marbella, which brought together partners from Europe, the UK, Canada, Australia, Africa, and the US, a common theme throughout was the pursuit of stronger partnerships through enhanced collaboration.
As we strategize for the growth of the EMEA region, we've observed an increase in EMEA splits, particularly in Germany. With six German partners in the network, there's a clear recognition of the potential Germany offers given its robust hiring expectations compared to other European countries.
Germany boasts a resilient engineering and manufacturing base, with abundant opportunities in automotive, machinery, aerospace, and related sectors. These industries actively seek engineers, technicians, and other skilled professionals.
Several US-based companies operate extensively in Germany, such as Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Caterpillar Inc., Boeing Company, 3M Company, General Electric Company (GE), Honeywell International Inc., United Technologies Corporation (UTC), and Procter & Gamble Company (P&G), each with notable manufacturing facilities or offices in the country.
For recruitment firms catering to such multinational entities, there's an opportunity to expand services beyond national boundaries. Leveraging the NPA network can position your firm as the preferred choice for international searches.
Considering this possibility? Here are some quick tips to initiate the process:
- Review your international client's website to identify job opportunities outside your region.
- Analyze the most common job titles and global locations advertised.
- Explore the Marketplace within the NPA network to identify potential partners in the targeted job regions. So you find the partners, what’s next?
- Reach out to these partners to express an interest in collaborating. Of course, you will get interested partners! Next?
- Speak with your client about your extended global reach and the benefits of using your firm internationally. (check out the NPA marketing materials on the website if you need help framing the conversation). You get some interest from your client, what’s next?
- Update your partners and ask permission to add their details to your presentation.
- Pitch to your client showcasing your firm's international capabilities in those specific regions.
- Follow up with your client on the next steps.
- Keep your partners up to date on your progress.
Start embarking on your journey of expanding your recruitment services internationally.
