A little routine maintenance can go a long way toward keeping your computer and web browsing fast and trouble-free.

  • Clear your browser cache: If it’s been a while, clearing cached files can help resolve slowdowns, loading issues, and outdated webpage content.
  • Update your browser: Make sure Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, or whichever browser you use is running the latest version for better performance and security.
  • Install system updates: Keep Windows, macOS, and other software up to date. Updates often include important security and performance improvements.
  • Restart your computer: If you tend to leave your computer running for days or weeks, a simple restart can clear temporary processes and give your system a fresh start.
  • Clean up unused apps and files: Remove programs you no longer use and delete unnecessary downloads or large temporary files to free up storage.
  • Review browser extensions: Uninstall extensions you don't recognize or no longer need. Too many extensions can slow browsing and may create security risks.

Tip: You don't have to do everything at once. Set aside a few minutes every month for basic maintenance, and your system will thank you!
