It is my honor to announce the 2024 recipient of the NPAworldwide Chairman’s Award is Nerissa Reyes of Avanti People Partnership, Manila, Philippines. Nerissa will receive the award at the upcoming NPA Global Conference in Salt Lake City.
The Chairman’s Award was established in 1996 to recognize a substantial and lasting endowment of volunteerism to the network and is NPAworldwide’s highest honor. Nerissa joined NPAworldwide in March 2006 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2008. In 2013, she was elected to the Executive Committee as Secretary-Treasurer, 2015 Chairman-Elect, 2016-2018 Chairman and Past Chairman 2019. Nerissa was the first member from Asia to serve as NPAworldwide Chairman.
She was part of the Executive Committee that completed the successful acquisitions of NBN in 2014 and IPA in 2019, both of which led to valuable new split partners and solid growth for the network. As Board Chair, Nerissa helped us focus on measurable KPIs, including targets for membership growth and number of splits, which continues today. She helped the Board become leaner and more cost-effective, leading to reduced operational costs. Member engagement in Asia (and Australia/New Zealand) increased under her leadership and continues to be strong today as evidenced by the steady increase in split placements since our event in Kuala Lumpur this year. More effective partnerships across the APAC region are also part of her legacy. Nerissa is a quiet, thoughtful, and pragmatic leader. She made sure all voices were heard on the Board of Directors. She is also a Platinum-level producer. Nerissa knows how to set goals and reach them. She is a staunch supporter of the network and made us a better organization. Nerissa is a worthy recipient of the Chairman's Award and I look forward to presenting this to her in Salt Lake City in front of her many friends and peers.
NPAworldwide Holiday Meeting
The Essence of NPA will continue with a great meeting in NYC on December 7. A number you have verbally committed, but you need to register by November 29th to confirm your attendance. I'm excited to welcome Chris Warticki back to talk customer experience. If you missed Chris' presentation at the recent gathering in Florida, it was excellent. We'll also be discussing how AI is impacting your desk and officially inducting Ed Wallach into the NPAworldwide Hall of Fame. I hope to see many of you there!
