The Essence of NPA, a phrase I plan to popularize this year, runs straight and true in Europe. Earlier this month, members from NPA in Europe, the US and LATAM got together in Barcelona, Spain in person
for the first time in over two years. Connection Barcelona was a big success! Best practices and thought leadership were shared amongst the attendees and great speakers. More importantly, old friendships were renewed and new friendships were made.

I would like to thank my good friends, NPA’s  European Director Tim Lane and Immediate Past Chair Jason Elias, for their leadership in co-hosting this great event. Many thanks also, to our great NPA staff for their support in making this event a reality. Lastly, a big shout out to the one and only Trond Larsen. Trond is the original founder of this annual NPA European event  and we thank him for his continued support and participation. See some photos here.

The agenda highlights included:

  • A great review of recruitment tools to save time and money, by Tim Lane and Jason Elias
  • Talent Acquisition Discussion by guest presenter Hung Lee, of the podcast Recruiting Brainfood
    • Some great content! I highly recommend Hung’s podcast
  • A guest presentation by ALC Enable around future-proofing your brand- great stuff!
  • I, along with NPA Partner Melanie Johnson shared some current case studies about Flying the NPA Flag in cross-border client development &  acquisition
    • Drop me a note -happy to share the presentation with you.
  • Lastly, Trond Larsen closed out presentations with a summary of NPA participation in Europe, along with trends and ideas about how to do more split transactions in the region.

I would also like to thank  Pablo Álvarez  for putting together a great Powerpoint presentation of Barcelona. The group participated in a wonderful local tour, and enjoyed great conversation with each other, along the way and back at the conference venue.

So The Essence of NPA (The NPA Friend Factor as I also call it)  was alive and well in Barcelona.  Of course, I don’t mean to suggest you have to be best friends with everyone you do business with at NPA. However, the friend factor does make splitting more fun…..it’s always easier to do business with a friend. To that end—a friendly reminder of some great upcoming NPA meetings:
