Whenever I start a new search for a client, I post it to NPAmarketplace.

Why? Because I want to try to find potential candidates for my client as quickly as possible. For me, as much as I would love to collect a full fee EVERY TIME, I have learned over the years that speed is of essence. If it takes me a week to develop potential candidates, I might lose out to an internal referral or another recruiter. Did anyone ever tell you that you had an exclusive and it turned out you didn’t?

When I post to NPAmarketplace AND the Job Board, I often figure out or confirm who my clients have already seen through their own efforts. “Low-hanging fruit” is somewhat derogatory, but it’s a reality that some candidates are anxiously responding to multiple postings.  By talking with them or, about them, to the employer, I gain more information from someone who has already been through the process.

Sorry to say, this is also one way for me to vet potential NPA exporters to partner in my search. My clients have already worked the search for a time and are looking to me to develop unique candidates. If I get the same candidate from multiple NPA exporters as well as the Job Board, it tells me I’ve got to keep looking.

I welcome exporters to call/email me to learn more about my posting. I have many more details to share that will help, or in some cases discourage, a potential split partner…but I think it’s better to know before spinning your wheels to avail.
