Dear Nicky

I am seeing a lot more jobs being posted, which is great to see.

What I would like to know is if the job recruiter is working it from their side as well or expecting members to fill them. I think this is important as it is their niche and client so they would be better suited to find “the one.”

Dear Curious,

The best way to get this answer is to ask the posting recruiter! We always recommend that candidate recruiters contact job recruiters before starting any recruitment activity. This is when you find out if the job recruiter is also sourcing candidates on their own, whether the salary/benefits have changed, how many candidates might already be interviewing, or any number of other updates.

We recommend sharing records because it is a great way to market your capabilities to other partners. It doesn't necessarily mean you will make splits by working a posted role, but it does help other partners figure out who does what in the network. You still need to build and maintain relationships with a handful of trading partners. The reality is, no one can guarantee who will find the right candidate. There are dozens of stories like this, including this example: A member in Canada had a job in Detroit, Michigan. The member who found the perfect candidate is in Mexico. The kicker is the candidate lived a mile away from the job location and no one was aware of him.
