Airport / Airline / Transportation Information

Philadelphia International Airport is served by all domestic carriers including daily arrivals from 80 American cities. It is also a key international hub for American Airlines with nonstop service from London, Rome, Doha, Budapest, Copenhagen, Athens, São Paulo, Cancún and the Bahamas.

Multiple ground transportation options are available from the airport to the Philadelphia Marriott Old City:

  • Uber or Lyft - Plan on US $35 each way. Travel time is approximately 15 minutes.
  • Public transportation - approximately 45 minutes travel time, each way
  • Cabs are available for approximately $45-60/cab, each way. Travel time is approximately 15 minutes.
Some travelers along the US eastern seaboard may wish to travel by train. Amtrak has a number of trains serving Philadelphia.

Electronic Devices

NPAworldwide requests that all electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, tablets, laptops, etc.) be silenced during educational sessions and meals. If it is necessary to use your cell phone, please step outside the meeting room to an area that will not disturb others.

Electronic Travel Authorization for International Attendees

If you are an international attendee from a country that participates in the visa waiver program, please note the following. As of January 12, 2009, all visitors will be required to pre-register electronically (ESTA) with Customs and Border Protection before travel. To learn more or to pre-register, please visit https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/. If you need to apply for a visa, NPAworldwide will be happy to issue an invitation letter to members upon request.

Getting Around Philadelphia

Uber and Lyft both serve the greater Philadelphia.

SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) includes train, trolley, subway and bus lines throughout the greater Philadelphia area.

Philly PHLASH downtown loop runs daily for $2 per ride or $5 for a day pass.

Photo Release/Company Release

NPAworldwide occasionally uses photographs, video images, or company names of meeting participants in its promotional materials. By virtue of your attendance, you automatically agree to usage of your likeness and company name in such material.

Responsible Drinking

NPAworldwide encourages an atmosphere of responsible drinking. Non-alcoholic beverages will be available at all social events. The drinking age is 21. Alcoholic beverages will not be served to anyone under the age of 21 and service may be denied to individuals who appear intoxicated. Attendees may not bring their own alcoholic beverages into any NPAworldwide function.

Smoking

The Philadelphia Marriott Old City is a 100% smoke-free property. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on hotel property, including guest rooms or any public spaces.

Weather

The average daytime high temperature in May is 56° F / 13° C. Overnight temperatures cool down to an average of 40° F / 4° C. You may wish to have a sweater or light jacket for the evenings.

What to Wear

Suggested attire is business casual. For men, this includes slacks, golf-style shirts, blazers, or sweaters. For women, this includes slacks, skirts, golf-style shirts and blouses, blazers or sweaters, and comfortable shoes. Suits, ties, day-to-evening dresses and high heels are not required for NPAworldwide functions. Off-site venues (restaurants, theaters, etc.) may have dress codes; please check with individual venues prior to traveling. Meeting room temperatures can vary; dressing in layers is advised.

Wi-Fi

Basic guest room wifi is available to Marriott Bonvoy members. Attendees may need to use their cellular service or create their own hotspots to access wifi in the meeting space. NPAworldwide does not warrant that the wifi service provided by the Philadelphia Marriott Old City to its guests will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
