NPAworldwide defines “cross-border” splits as deals where the partners are operating in different countries. Here is a story about members that completed a cross-border split.
Claire Hallett-Walsh (NPA #8694) of Walsh Employment in England, and Daina Di Veto (NPA #7744) of Card Resource Group Inc. in Canada, have recently shared a cross-border placement. Daina placed Claire's candidate, a Manager - IT Business Analyst, in the US.
Claire explains how the deal came about: "Daina placed a role on the NPA site which I felt was something I could potentially assist her with. Despite being in the UK and the USA being quite new to me, I was able to source the right person for the role. Daina was brilliant throughout the whole process – picking up the phone to chat me through the role, updating me regularly, giving me detailed feedback, all of which helped to narrow the search and engage the candidate who was finally offered the role."
Daina added: "In an interesting twist, this was actually a 'one down' hire. Claire sent me a great candidate, Rhonda. The client interviewed Rhonda and liked her, but was concerned about the relocation, because Rhonda was in Dallas and the job was in Atlanta. Rhonda had told me about a colleague with the same experience who was based in Atlanta. I gave the name to Claire, Claire got her to the table, and we had a hire! Claire was fantastic from start to finish, including being very classy when I had to tell her that one of the candidates she sourced had already been sourced by another exporter."
