Do you have a favorite split story to share?
I took a call from a spammy-looking number (same area code as my mobile) that called me back from an email campagin and had a name I did not recognize. The candidate didn't have the best communiucation skills, which made me even more hesitant until he sent me his resume while we were on the phone, which looked almost too good to be true. It ended up being a great candidate for a role with Howard Rudzinsky that he happend to have an opening for. I almost didn't pick up the call and I'm not sure if the voicemail would have warrented a call back!
How did you get into recruiting?
I co-founded an HR tech company in New York City called RecruitiFi.com, a VMS platform much like BountyJobs.com and GoScout.com. We took the company from my living room, to co-working space, and then into our own offices in Midtown Manhattan. RecruitiFi.com is still around, with new ownership. I saw the margins and how much fun the recruiters on the platform were having and made an exit to focus more on the services side of recruiting and haven't looked back to the tech side since.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
The ability to speak with ghosting candidates!
