Dear Nicky
I am a candidate recruiter and have to tell you, the lack of response from job recruiters is terrible. I send them a note with a resume/CV and hear nothing. I follow up and again, nothing… Do they not really need help?

Dear Frustrated,
This is not an excuse, but it is a busier time of year than normal. It is still not acceptable to post a job and then not provide feedback.
Here are some tips for both sides:
Candidate recruiters
- Did you reach out first? Always reach out first to make sure the job is still valid and there’s not already a lot of activity such as interviews, 5 in the pipeline, etc.
- Did you identify yourself as being a fellow NPAworldwide member?
- Did you explain why the candidate fits the “must haves” of the job?
- Is this the quality of candidate you would send your best client?
- Try reaching out a different way (e.g. if you called, then try email. If you emailed, try calling – you never know, your voicemail may have been accidentally deleted, or your email may have landed in their spam folder.)
Job Recruiters
- How hot is your job, really?
- In the ‘Private notes to members’ section did you give your NPAworldwide partner information about your client such as: done deals here, new client, etc.
- Make sure you provide timely feedback to keep a good reputation with your partners; they do talk
- Are you looking for true help, or back-up candidates? Make sure you are only posting quality jobs that you need help with. If you post a job, you owe your partners feedback.
