Glenn said: "This week, a thorny situation with a valuable client. A client I'll bill over 300-400K this year. We have a 'confidential' search for a Plant Controller. This was communicated to another NPA Partner and during our monthly accounting call. On Tuesday I received a call from someone in HR asking me if we were running an ad on the LinkedIn job board. I told her with conviction, 'not a chance....we don't do that and never have.' An hour later she texted me a copy of the job board advertisement, under the banner of my NPA Partner. The HR contact was livid, and through no fault of my own, my credibility... shot."
"I reached out to our Board member and Past Chair, Jim Lyons for advice," Glenn said. "Jim evaluated the circumstances of the transaction and offered to call the client on my behalf. He provided her the pertinent details of what had transpired, attested to my competence, tenure, and further, my integrity as well as that of the network. Although the client wasn't happy about the circumstances, they did give me a pass as we have previously placed two VP's of Finance, the Chief Accounting Officer as well as a Sr. Mgr in Human Resources."
