I am getting ready to head to my sister's house in SC and one of the things I love to see is the Live Oak Trees, we don’t have them in KY.
If you google them they are very pretty, but here are some things I like most:
- Sturdy - live oaks are highly resistant to hurricane winds and are among the least likely trees to lose branches or blow over in a storm.
- Stay Alive- Live oaks got their name because they stay “alive” all year long, unlike other oak species that lose their leaves in the fall.
- Long Lived- Live oaks also are long lived. One of the oldest, the Angel Oak in Charleston, S. C., is said to be around 1,000 years old. (I have seen this one)
As a side note The U.S. Navy once grew acres of live oak trees to supply the strong wood to build its ships.
Nice article Marcia, but what does this have to do with NPAworldwide you might ask. A lot actually. Members that we see “make it” in the recruiting world are like the live oak.
- Sturdy- The recruiting industry is full of highs and lows, NPAworldwide can strengthen your relationships
- Stay Alive- All year long we need to be thinking ahead to the next placement or business development idea. Staying ahead of the curve is critical to staying relevant.
- Long lived- this is not a short-term career, it takes time to build trust, relationships and to get your name out there. The effort you put in now—attending meetings, posting results, and connecting with others—paves the way for lifelong partnerships that will support your career for years to come and you will build relationships that will last a lifetime.
