I love this month’s story, knowing how special the situation was. This is also one of those stories that certainly has not happened overnight but has come together through patience, collaboration and mutual trust. It’s a great example of how staying invested throughout the process can ultimately make the difference.

Steve Young and I have known and worked together over the years, and while we’ve worked on several searches, we hadn’t reached the finish line until now. We’ve always worked well together and share the same philosophy—treating our NPA partners like our best clients—and that approach really showed throughout this search.
We spent several months recruiting for a Business Unit Manager role. Steve consistently brought forward strong candidates. We came close with a candidate in November, but he ultimately decided relocation wasn’t the right thing for his family.
In December, Steve introduced another candidate with whom he had built a strong rapport. It quickly became clear he was the right fit. Steve’s understanding of the candidate’s motivations and fit added meaningful value well beyond a typical, transactional resume submission, and he remained actively engaged throughout the entire process.
In January, I stepped away briefly for a few days for the birth of twin grandsons. During that time, Steve stayed in direct communication with both my client and his candidate, keeping everything moving forward. Throughout the search, we remained in close contact, and his input was especially valuable during the final stages of offer negotiation.
Because of that consistency and true partnership, we closed the search in late March, resulting in a $56,250 fee.
This is a strong example of what trust and collaboration within our network can achieve.
