Dear Nicky,

I'm a newer member and I'm seeing some information about the Annual Owners Meeting. What is this, and do I need to participate?

Oshtemo Owner

Dear Oshtemo,

Thanks for your membership! NPAworldwide is a cooperative, which means that the member firms in the network are also the owners of it. A cooperative is only as strong as the engagement of its members. By participating in governance, you help build a more robust infrastructure that supports split-fee placements across all borders. Active participation signals to other owners that you are committed to the network's success. This strengthens trust, which is the currency of our business.

Owners provide important oversight over the Board of Directors by confirming the actions they undertake throughout the year. During this meeting, you'll also vote on governance issues such as bylaws changes, elect officers and directors of the cooperative, hear membership challenges, get updates on the finances of our organization and more. It's your opportunity to ask questions about network initiatives and board activities. Register here to attend.

Your NPAworldwide membership is an asset. Like any investment, it requires monitoring and management to yield the best returns. Participating in governance is how you protect that asset. You help ensure financial transparency, ethical standards, and operational efficiency. By stepping up, you ensure the cooperative remains healthy and capable of delivering returns for years to come.

This is a free, virtual event designed to allow as much participation globally as possible. We recognize that there is no single time zone that is universally appealing or workable and that some members will have difficulty attending the live session. For those who are unable to attend, there is a proxy available so that your vote can still be cast and counted. Proxies were distributed to eligible members this week, and the deadline to return them is February 23. Please contact Veronica Blatt if you have questions about the proxy process, or any member of the Board of Directors if you have questions about the information contained in the proxy.

Nicky
