I have been working on a job with an NPA member. I am not having much luck but do have a friend I work with that works this space and want to send the job to them. They are not in NPA, and I have been trying to convince them to join so thought it would be a good incentive. Am I OK to do this?

We love member referrals, and the best ones come from other members. However good your intentions, NPAworldwide is a private community and you may NEVER share information received from your partners with anyone outside our network. It also goes without saying that you cannot share access to any of our sites or systems with anyone from a non-member firm. This is true regardless of your employment status with a member firm - owner, direct employee, contractor, service provider or other arrangement. You are putting your partner at risk of non-payment for a situation where indemnification may not be an available remedy. You are putting yourself at risk of owing half a fee to a partner even if you did not receive any financial benefit from the placement. You are putting both yourself and your partner at risk of having a client or candidate relationship jeopardized by exposing that information to a third party that is not bound by the terms of our Membership Agreement, Bylaws, or Operations Manual. And finally, you risk both damage to your reputation and potential expulsion from NPAworldwide for failure to abide by this critical rule.
We are allowing non-member participation at certain events, so perhaps that is a better way for you to offer an incentive to join.
