I get emails/phone calls from NPAworldwide staff on occasion asking me to be a peer coach, area leader, etc. I'm not really sure what's involved in these roles, or whether I'm even interested in volunteering. How can I learn more?

Taking time out of your daily/weekly routine can feel challenging, yet the benefits of doing so often outweigh the time investment. In NPAworldwide, finding volunteers can be tough, largely because members perceive the time commitment as too high. However, the truth is, the time required is pretty minimal. This small investment can significantly boost your visibility and relationships with NPAworldwide partners, creating long-term advantages for both you and your firm.
We rely on volunteer leaders to serve in many capacities from committee membership all the way to governance via the Board of Directors. There are many different volunteer roles that require different skills as well as different time requirements, including microvolunteer opportunities. There are many reasons why people serve as volunteers, including:
- To 'give back' or make an impact
- To demonstrate civic responsibility
- To learn new skills

NPAworldwide members who volunteer also benefit from increased visibility within the network and may find that leads to additional split placement opportunities.
