Dear Nicky,

I've been contacted by NPAworldwide suggesting I have an inactive account and that my access could be eliminated. I'm confused, though. I regularly post records - how am I considered inactive?

Dear L'Anse,

Happy to clarify! Earlier this year we started to implement some new processes to ensure that members’ records are safeguarded and that no one is accessing our systems without understanding and engaging in NPAworldwide. This new process captures all users in the master database, it ensures for some basic awareness of NPAworldwide Bylaws and Operational principles by new recruiters, and it will monitor use of Matchmaker and remove inactive accounts in a more timely way. This will eventually be a fully automated process, but we are working hard to make sure we don't inadvertently remove access for active users of the system.

Inactive accounts are those in which there has been no activity on the NPA Central site for 180 days since account creation. This is located at https://members.npaworldwide.com and is *different* from where you post records. Recruiters will receive automated warnings at 60 days and 90 days of the need to maintain account access. If no activity occurs within 180 days of account creation, access will be terminated. We are currently manually informing recruiters that they are on the list of inactive accounts and giving time to connect with our sites before we turn on the automated program.

It is possible, but not preferred, for members to avoid NPA Central and log in to Marketplace directly. It appears this is what you are doing, so no activity is being recorded for you on the NPA Central site. By not visiting NPA Central, you are missing out on many of the benefits of your NPAworldwide membership, such as:

  • Events and calls
  • Publications
  • Discussion forums
  • Training materials and other resources
  • Marketing tools

To maintain your account, please access the NPA Central site as indicated above. Please contact any member of our Engagement Team if you have questions about this new process.

Nicky
