Airport / Airline / Transportation Information

Brisbane International Airport (BNE) is the main international gateway to Brisbane and South East Queensland, serving over 23 million passengers annually with two terminals, extensive facilities, and connections to 78 destinations worldwide. Ground transportation options include:

  • Taxis are readily available, with average fares around AUD $40 per cab, each way
  • Translink Train Journey Planner - Take the train from the airport terminal to Brunswick Street Station, and then walk to the hotel (10 minutes) or grab a taxi/Uber (5 minutes), approximately AUD $20 each way
  • Uber - AUD $60-120, depending on vehicle type, etc.

Parking

Self-parking is $40 AUD for overnight guests, $50 AUD for visitors, or valet parking is available for $60 AUD. Maximum height: 2.3m.

Responsible Drinking

NPAworldwide encourages an atmosphere of responsible drinking. Non-alcoholic beverages will be available at all social events. The drinking age is 18. Alcoholic beverages will not be served to anyone under the age of 18 and service may be denied to individuals who appear intoxicated. Attendees may not bring their own alcoholic beverages into any NPAworldwide function.

Smoking

The Alva Hotel Brisbane is a non-smoking property; designated smoking areas are available. Smoking is prohibited in all guest rooms and other non-smoking areas; fines are levied to anyone who smokes in an undesignated area.

Visas

Most visitors to Australia require a visa. Visas must be obtained through the ETA app, which can be downloaded for free from the Apple store or Google Play.

The average daytime high temperature in November is 28° C / 82° F. Overnight temperatures cool down to an average of 18° C / 65° F. 

What to Wear

Suggested attire is business casual. For men, this includes slacks, golf-style shirts, blazers, or sweaters. For women, this includes slacks, skirts, golf-style shirts and blouses, blazers or sweaters, and comfortable shoes. Suits, ties, day-to-evening dresses and high heels are not required for NPAworldwide functions. Off-site venues (restaurants, theaters, etc.) may have dress codes; please check with individual venues prior to traveling. Meeting room temperatures can vary; dressing in layers is advised.

Wi-Fi

Basic guest room wifi is complimentary for NPAworldwide PowerUp attendees. Attendees may need to use their cellular service or create their own hotspots to access wifi in the meeting space.
